Welcome!
I'm glad you're here.
My name is Grace Mikesell, and I am a fourth-year pre-med student at the University of Central Florida. My major was biomedical sciences, and my minors were in materials science and engineering and global sociology.
In exploring my e-portfolio, you’ll discover some of the experiences, people, and knowledge that caused me to fall in love with the practice of medicine and pursuit of creative solutions to health care needs.
My favorite parts of my undergraduate career have been the hands-on enrichment and skill-building via laboratory experiences and exploring the sociological aspect of health through medicine-related study abroad, visiting hospitals in other states, and coursework in the sociology department.
My volunteering and professional experiences have combined to create a diversely educated, widely informed perspective with which I can see and act in the healthcare field. Additionally, they have grown my passion for having a career that helps particular populations. It has been deeply fulfilling and motivating to build relationships that let me see the world in a new way and have given me the opportunity to invest in others.
I hope that navigating my page inspires you and provides valuable context to the applicant I've become.
